Endocet Side Effects & Dosage

Endocet Dosage

Endocet dosage can be tricky. Since this drug is so powerful many people will need to start off with a lower dosage and work up to a higher one. Only in severe pain should the maximum dosage be used. As well careful monitoring by a Doctor or a Nurse should be performed while taking this drug. This is a type 2 narcotic and as such is considered highly likely to be addictive. This is why you should be so careful when taking it. Many times this drug has been used without a prescription for recreational use and this result in severe addiction problems and possible complete liver failure.

Endocet dosage comes in is the following: Endocet 5mg/325mg, 7.5mg/500mg, 10mg/650mg. The typical adult usage of this drug is one tablet every six hours. For some cases however this may not be enough. Since this drug is a combination of two drugs Oxycodone and Acetaminophen you should be aware that people taking this drug should not exceed 4 grams of Acetaminophen daily. Failure to heed this warning has been proven to result in a complete liver failure and the need for a liver transplant.

While it is typical to only need this drug once every 6 hours you may in lower dosages take this more often if needed. You should not exceed 12 pills per day with the lower dosage however as the above reasons clearly indicate the dangers involved. With any drug there will be a difference in the level of dosages recommended for adults, adolescents, and seniors. For adults the maximum 12 pills per day should not be exceeded. For adolescents the maximum dosage of a calculation of 0.05 to 0.15 mg per kilogram per dose should not be exceeded. Now for seniors a half a tablet for every six hours should not be exceeded. Seniors should take a lower dosage because of the possibility of lung failure and cardiac arrest is greater.

For those that have suffered from liver failure or who is starting to indicate that they are on that path due to the results of their blood work should be wary. This drug is metabolized in the liver, well at least the Acetaminophen is, and as such can affect any other drugs that you may be taking. These dosages are mostly the recommended dosages and any person who is taking any medications that may interfere with this drug should be made aware of any of the risks involved. These drugs are not limited to prescription medication only but you may also experience some side effects with the natural herbal drugs that are sold over the counter.

The most of the of the complaints that occur when using drugs of this sort is due to the failure to realize of how one drug can interact with another drug. As well not every combination of drugs has been tested before this was released to the populace. This is understandable as more new drugs are being developed every day. Any of the adverse side effects such as dizziness, nausea, stomach pains, and weird thoughts should be written down and you should seek out proper medical care. As well any of these symptoms should be both reported to the FDA and your Doctor so that the drug company can be made aware of this possibility.

To be really sure that the drug company knows of any possible adverse side effect I would highly recommend you contact them directly. These drug companies will have personnel that are fully capable to write down a adverse side effect report. These reports are then tallied up and any changes to the notification on the drug packaging is made or perhaps a reworking of the drug itself is considered.

While Acetaminophen is not typical to cause any adverse side effects when taken in large quantities and when interacting with other drugs there can be some severe side effects. Therefore you should never take any additional Acetaminophen with Endocet unless your Doctor specifically approves you to do so.

These dosages are listed in tablet form. It is quite feasible that you can take this drug intravenously as well. When this possibility should arise then the utmost care should be taken. In fact I would not even think about taking this drug in that matter without the supervision of a Doctor or Nurse close by. The possibility of something going wrong is just too great.

If I remember it was not too long ago when Michael Jackson died of a drug overdose. While supposedly the Doctor only prescribed the recommended dosage a catastrophic overdose still occurred. This really illustrates the need to make sure that the medical person who is taking care of you is made aware of every drug you are taking.

This drug is rapidly growing in popularity in the United States. The growth rate of this drug is quite astonishing considering the total tonnage of drugs being produced each year. I would have to say that there is at least a 400 percent increase over the past decade if not more. As well many drug dealers seem to have found that this can be quite a lucrative drug to deal with. Since this drug is not as dangerous of a substance as cocaine or heroin many drug dealers wrongly believe that they are not really breaking the law. This is simply not the case.

I state the above because as many more people are taking this drug they are becoming more and more dependent upon it. This is resulting in the overdosing of many people each and every day. The only way to carefully remove yourself from this drug is to seek out the proper medical care so that a withdrawal regimen can be devised in order to get you off of this drug with as little side effects as possible.

The dangers to Endocet should not be understated. Simply put you should be made aware of any possible adverse effect that this drug can do to you.
